Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of BKApp.ai. Please read them: they explain what this service is, what it is not, and the limits of what you may rely on it for. By creating an account you accept them. Version 2026-08-13.

1. What this service is, and what it is not

BKApp.ai is a financial awareness and bookkeeping-assistance utility. It helps you see transactions across several businesses, organise documents, categorise spending, and observe trends.

It is not accounting software, it is not a bookkeeping service, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. It does not produce statutory accounts, it does not file anything with any tax authority, and it does not perform an audit. Nothing it displays is a certified financial statement.

No accountant, bookkeeper, auditor, tax adviser, attorney, or financial adviser relationship is created by your use of it. We do not provide financial, tax, legal, investment, or accounting advice of any kind.

2. You must check the work

Every figure, classification, category, match, forecast, and budget in this service is produced automatically and may be wrong. Automated document reading, transaction categorisation, duplicate detection, and reconciliation are best-effort processes. They are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current.

You are solely responsible for reviewing everything before relying on it, and for having a qualified professional review your books before filing anything, making a financial decision, or reporting to anyone.

Where the service shows a confidence score, a caveat, or a review item, that is a signal to look, not a guarantee about anything it did not flag. The absence of a warning is not assurance that a figure is right.

  • Bank and card data is supplied by third parties and may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect.
  • Amounts read from documents are evidence about a document, never a correction to your bank record.
  • Forecasts are projections from past activity. They are not predictions and carry no assurance.
  • A generated budget is a starting point derived from history, not a recommendation.

3. Consult your own advisers

You should consult your own accountant, bookkeeper, tax adviser, attorney, or financial adviser before acting on anything you see here. Your circumstances, your jurisdiction, and the applicable rules are things only your own advisers can properly assess.

If the service and your adviser disagree, follow your adviser.

4. Your responsibilities

By using the service you agree that you will:

  • Keep your sign-in credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.
  • Only connect accounts and upload documents you are authorised to access.
  • Not use the service to launder money, evade tax, or for any unlawful purpose.
  • Not attempt to access another organisation’s data, probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission, or interfere with its operation.
  • Maintain your own records independently of this service.

5. Third-party services

The service depends on third parties for bank connectivity, hosting, data storage, document processing, and other functions. Their availability, accuracy, and terms are outside our control, and an interruption or error on their side may affect what you see here.

Connecting a third-party account may also make you subject to that provider’s own terms.

6. Availability

The service is provided on an as-available basis. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or preserved indefinitely, and we may change or discontinue features. We will give reasonable notice of a material change where we can.

You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you need. Export functions are provided for that purpose.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. This includes, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, that results obtained from it will be accurate or reliable, or that defects will be corrected.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the operator of this service nor its developers, contributors, officers, employees, or suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the service, whether in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if advised of the possibility.

Without limiting the above, we are not liable for any tax penalty, interest, fine, regulatory action, misfiling, overpayment, underpayment, missed obligation, or business decision arising from your reliance on anything the service displayed.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator and its developers from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make a material change we will update the version date and ask you to accept the new version. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
